Becky's Dream Closer to Coming True

We're so proud of Becky! And the good news is: We made the down payment on her NYC trip this morning! Woo Hoo!

Thank you so much to all the friends, new friends, and family who helped us reach this part of her journey.

I love this!! My daughter is 15 and has cp. She would love to travel, especially to Hawaii. I can't wait to show her Becky's story and let her know that this dream is possible!

How You Can Help!

Becky's Dreams have grown and multiplied! Originally, this blog was created to help her achieve her goal of going to go to New York City. She had wanted to go to NYC since she was very young and especially wanted to visit the Today Show. Becky wanted to have this adventure while being as independent as possible - without her family, without her daily caregivers. Well, SHE DID IT! With the help of many friends, strangers and a special celebrity, she went to NYC in October 2011.

In April 2013, Becky went to Las Vegas, NV to fulfill her dream of seeing an Elvis impersonator. Now she's hooked on playing virtual casino games. She had so much fun, she didn't want to come home!

Big adventures are pretty expensive since Becky requires lots of physical assistance with self care and specialized transportation. It would be wonderful if people who read this blog would support Becky by sharing this blog on their social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter.

Of course, there are also Donation buttons that will link you to Paypal...a secure, safe way to help send Becky on her adventures.

We would like to inform you that while the "Becky's Dream" is not a registered charity, it is a fund set up for Becky's benefit to pay for transportation, hotels, meals, medical & personal care staff as she achieves her dreams of going on new adventures. We wish to assure you that every penny raised for this fund will be going towards Becky's expenses to make sure she has a safe, secure and fun adventure while being as independent as possible!

Becky has another dream she wants to achieve... She wants to help others travel. She wants to help her peers, other people with disabilities, travel and expand their worlds. She also wants to advocate for her friends who are disabled in other areas including inclusion in community activities, making friends with non-disabled members of their community and getting involved in their local government to ensure their opinions are being heard.

One way for her to help her peers is by getting the word out about assisted travel. Please share this blog with your friends!
